What Does It Take To Be Great & How To Embrace Your Own Greatness

What is greatness? Greatness for others, or in at least in the eyes of the society is being better on something than everyone else, or simply being the best. If that was greatness for you, then you must’ve already lost sight and your thoughts were already been manipulated by how the society wants you to think it is.

What do you think about those people who chose the road not taken? Who chose to be themselves in spite of what the society calls them, a weirdo with no lives and a loser. They -- at least for me, is the epitome of being great.

Because being great for me is doing what you love despite of whatever they may say about you.

First, it all starts with the decision to grow. And for a person to grow, you need to let go. How and what to let go? Let go the fears and let in courage. May look and sound hard and actually take time but it will be worth it. Don’t just go with the flow. You are the captain of your own ship -- lead it the way you wanted. Don’t take no, don’t listen when they tell you you cannot. Instead, use this as an inspiration to strive harder because no one can really tell you what you will reach and who you will be someday aside from you. Imagine the person you want to be. Believe in yourself first and everyone else will. And especially, be true to yourself. Be true to the things that makes you happy, be true to your passions and dreams.

You see, being great doesn’t mean recognition and fame. You can be great without those. After all being great is being different, being distinct; and being yourself is greatness. With the society that makes you hate yourself for your failures, flaws, and imperfections -- be stubborn enough to love yourself, love your own greatness. If no one else was there to believe in you, be that person. Be that someone who encourages you.

Be great, be you.
